This lake-side resort in the north of Italy is simply stunning in the summer. The town comes alive with music festivals and adventurous tourists from all over the world. I was here in June 2013 at the same time I visited Milan nearby.
The set below shows my arrival into the area and relaxing drive across the countryside under a full moon, then what I saw while walking around the town at night.

Honestly this is the tiniest hotel room I’ve seen to date! But most things in Europe are tiny and efficient, just like the car they gave me there (shown below).
Obviously the lake is much more scenic in the daytime… though as you will see, people seem to make their party place here at night too.
I took the liberty of some artistic effect on the camera (like watercolor and pastel) to accentuate the charming beauty of this area. I tried to drive around the perimeter of the lake but was scared off by the fact that the roads are barely wide enough for one car yet they share a combination of two-way traffic, flocks of bikers and walkers.. and you just can’t see what’s around the next twisty curve. After snapping a few photos I turned back!
Some last views of Como and after that I drove down to Milan (it’s about 40 min.)
This area is highly recommended for a summer visit.
